How Filing for Bankruptcy Affects Your Employment and Salary

Watch the video or continue reading below.

Normally filing a bankruptcy will not affect your employment or your salary.

Some positive things that can happen are garnishees being stopped by the bankruptcy (except garnishees for support payments) and stopping harassing calls while you are at work.

Where a bankruptcy can affect employment is when your position requires you to be bonded. As the bonding requirements can vary from company to company, you are best to discuss with person in charge of payroll if you think it could affect you.
